This was a case of a “series of fortunate events” 🙂

You see, I have never been able to attend any of the “Cooking the Books” event which a bunch of my food blogger friends attend. What is Cooking the Books you ask? It’s simply that. Pick a recipe from the chosen cookbook and cook it up. Bring it along or cook it on the spot, and serve it to one another without judgement (or maybe a bit of friendly critiquing :P).

It’s a beautiful and fun way to get together. Really, as food bloggers go, we really don’t need much of a motivation other than by using the words food and feast 🙂

So this latest (March 17th 2011, I’M BEHIND IN POSTS) CTB5 (as in the fifth session) I’d said I was going to attend. Finally.

And then, the Boy and I decided that this was also going to be the first time we would be signing up for Run for the Kids 2011, a charitable race (or walk) event to raise money.

So, I sadly thought I’d have to pull out of this CTB5 meet-up (yet again!).

Luckily Kat, Thanh, Shellie, Cherrie said that I should just attend anyway for the feast even if I didn’t have time to cook anything.

Now, I couldn’t turn up empty handed (I’d thought about bringing Cadbury Favourites) upon that generous invitation!

So I offered to bring drinks and a dessert. I had to make something quick that could sit in an esky (ice box) for a few hours and still be decent for consumption.

Hence, my motivation to make Chocolate Macadamia Fudge.

Strictly speaking, it wasn’t from the right Nigella Lawson cookbook, but who cares 🙂 It tasted yum!

So, I can finally say, I have attended a CTB session with my blogger friends and contributed (eating) from the Kitchen by Nigella Lawson.

And boy was I lucky and happy that I trudge along to this feast, because it was a major feast.

Everyone turned up with at least 1 dish *phew* and there was definitely no shortage of food.

So I’m done with my yackity yak. I’ll leave you to feast your eyes on the food churned out that day.
