I’m often asked to suggest places at the very last minute by friends and colleagues. With such short notice, it is sometimes hard to think of any place that will allow patrons to dine in without bookings. Luckily, with so many “no booking” policies, there are still some places you can get to, if you can wait 2 hours in queue 😛 I bring you some of my favourite modern Thai restaurants in Melbourne CBD which you shouldn’t go pass. Some who take bookings and some you should just try your luck with!
What do you do when you put a protege of Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai into a modern Japanese kitchen and let him run wild? Heirloom has changed my view on traditional Izakaya cuisine and I can’t wait to go back for more!
Momofuku. David Chang. Sydney. 3 things that should be at the forefront of your thoughts when you next find yourself in Sydney. Momofuku Seiobo in Sydney’s Star Casino is David Chang’s answer to forging a new and exciting contemporary fine dining style in Australia.
A new Japanese eatery with a name that sounds like an English Pub? Why? Why not? Gypsy & Pig, new on the food dining scene is the new “must-go-to” Japanese restaurant in Melbourne. Be sure to book, with a seating capacity of 22 pax and amazing food to boot this place won’t stay hidden for long!
