Okay then. For this post, I was kind of torn… either put up old pictures from my favourite dining experience (i.e. Tetsuya’s) OR…. put up some nice pics from my trip to the aquarium the other day…

Since I couldn’t decide.. I decided (oh the conundrum) of both of them on separate posts… Starting with a trip down Nostalgia Lane.

I took my mum to Tetsuya’s (Sydney) after graduation as a graduation present. So here we go.. not all the pics turned out well, on the account of being the only Asian there snapping pictures of her food (in a rather classy fine dining establishment mind you!), I was trying to be nonchalant about it and snap whenever no one was looking, which was really difficult!!

Forgive me for some missing or my own take on the names of the dishes… My memory no longer serves me well… I blame old age.. Hahahahah.. And this was over 2 years ago! (I did say they were old pics down memory lane didn’t I?.. Ahh my memory is like a bloody sieve these days!)

Some might just ask, why don’t I just go to their website and look up the names. Tetsuya changes their menu every once in a while, so I can’t.

(I’m going to crack it cos my post just went missing. 1 hour’s worth of work!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here we go again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO PISSED OFF!!! All my nice commentaries gone!! Fark this shit!!)

Here we go:

Chilled corn soup with Basil Ice Cream. Absolutely Mind Blowing!!

This was an add-on special they had on the day. Fresh Tasmanian Oysters with Ponzu Sauce

“Tartare of tuna on sushi rice served on a bed of Avocado Sauce and Avruga Caviar”

Sashimi Platter!! ^_^
Trio of “Tuna marinated with Soy and Mirin, Soft Smoked Ocean Trout & Asparagus and Marinated NZ Scampi & Chicken Parfait”

Mr. Tetsuya’s classic signature dish:
“Confit of Petuna Tasmanian Ocean Trout with Konbu, Apple, Daikon & Wasabi, and unpasteurized caviar”

“Ravioli of Queensland Spinner Crab with tomato and basil vinaigrette”

“Twice cooked de-boned spatchcooked with braised daikon and bread sauce served with beans and patato confit”

Ok. Because I don’t eat beef (due to religion), I had a special classic French dish of “Sliced Duck with Orange Sauce”

“Beetroot and Blood Orange Ice-Cream with Tetsuya’s specialty dessert, Strawberry Shortcake in a shot glass!”

“Vanilla bean i’cream & white bean & date”

“Floating Island: with Praline and Vanilla Anglaise”

This was inside the floating Island”

“Coffee and tea with Petit Fours”

NOTE to self: ALWAYS SAVE DRAFT!!
2nd Note to self: Do remember to label your pictures as this has taken over an hour to find the titles and repost them due to the stupid blog acting funny on me
3rd Note to self: Do try and go back to Tetsuya’s as the new menu looks absolutely tantalising!!
