Another recipe inspired from Masterchef.
I must admit, I have too many food pictures at the moment and the next couple of post will not be about my interesting life (yeah right!), but will be food recipes…
So everyone knows how to make a good bolognese dish right?
This recipe or more like ingredient list was taken from the initial top 50 “bolognese” taste test.
There are 17 ingredients to be used…. Muah being muah… I changed a few here and there…
The original 17 are:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Onions, Carrots, Celery, Chopped Tomatoes, Cinnomon, Nutmeg, Cloves, Beef, Pork, Veal, Tomato Paste, White Wine, Garlic, Salt Pepper and Bay Leaf.
For the one I made below… I don’t eat beef or veal… and instead of pork… I used lamb instead… and I didn’t have cloves… and I chucked in some mixed herbs and fresh thyme =)
Everything else… I did have.. amazingly…
So everyone knows how to make the sauce.
Saute the onions, garlic, herbs. Once it starts to brown, throw in the mince lamb.
Add in the carrots and chopped tomatoes and let simmer.
Add in the tomato paste and mix in throughly with salt, pepper, sugar and Worchesteshire sauce to taste.
Chuck in the Bay Leaf and thyme and celery (finely chopped).
I did this overnight.. so by the next day, when I actually ate this, it was really infused with all the herbs
Voila!.. Serve it with any pasta you want.. I had this with spaghetti, macaroni, sprials, fettucine.. (it fed me for a week)
