It was to be our final meeting whilst the BFF was here (apologies for the lateness). We were here on Wednesday (12th of August), so not that long ago…
We decided to come here as we wanted to have Greek food and the BFF’s man wanted steak.. and we thought, why not try something different?
Docklands… is pretty dead… Okay, I lie… it is extremely dead… I can’t remember when it used to be this quiet… yes, I know, it was a weekday… but I have never seen a place so dead before…
Apart from Man Mo (A Malaysian Chinese Restaurant), all the other restaurants looked really depressingly empty…
Many were shut, for good or just for the weeknight, I know not…
Arrived without a booking (why do we need one?)… and was ushered to a booth by our quirky Greek waitress…
We wanted one that was nearer to the windows, but were told that that table was reserved… (after the whole night, that table still remained empty… hmmpphh!)
Started off with 2 entrees…
We had to have the Saganaki, which was really really good, but extremely salty!!
Saganaki – Pan fried Kefalograviera cheese $11.5
Next we had the prawn saganaki (very tiny serving of 7 prawns..), good but nothing fantastic
Prawn saganaki – Garlic prawns in tomato sauce $14.0
Each of us girls’ decided to have the Special of the day… which was off the menu…
Slow Roasted Lamb served on potatoes and spinach… (really nice.. but heck of a lot of potatoes!)
I can’t remember the price of this, I’m assuming that it was $30
2 of the Boys went with the Porterhouse steak
MSA Porterhouse steak with mushroom garlic sauce $28.5
Although the menu mentioned that it was a mushroom garlic sauce… when it arrived, it looked like a red wine reduction sauce…
The Boy said it tasted like so, and said it was one of the nicest things he’s had…
Ms. Tinymouse’s boy had Meatballs… which he said was a tad too dry… (he didn’t finish it)
Slow cooked with tomato, garlic and parsley served over pasta $18.5
For dessert, everyone was too full… but the Boy still managed an ice-cream
Homemade Ice cream – $3.0 per scoop
And the BFF and I had a Baklava! You’ve got to have that if you’re gonna do Greek! Very good, and very sweet!
Baklava – Layers of filo pastry with mixed nuts and served with sugar syrup $8.5
All in all… it was a pretty good meal… They insisted on giving us either still or sparkling water… no tap…so the water bill came up to $27… which is a bit pricey…
Overall Food Rating: 7/10
Restaurant ambiance: 7/10 (they had a plasma screen up on one of the walls, playing continous Greek Music Videos.. and Ms. Tinymouse’s Boy was constantly distracted by it… “Wow… why all the Greek women so hot?”
Value for money: 7/10
