Almazett Lebanese Restaurant @ Caulfield North
By Ms I-Hua On April 23, 2010 · Leave a Comment · In By Cuisine, By Location, Caulfield, Eastern and South East Suburbs, Food Reviews, Middle Eastern Cuisine
Cousin A and I were looking for some good Middle-Eastern/ Meditarranean food one day in November (I Know, I know…!)… and I came upon Almazett.
NOTE: For some reason, their website seems to be down…
Relatively easy to find, considering the information is everywhere, as Almazett have been around for 30 years and counting…
We were seated at our table by a cheery waiter…
Ate some pickled vegies (I live pickles… and no, I’m not preggers)…
We started of with dips and bread… beginning with the Hummus…
Babaganoush…
Fava bread with the dips.. generous portions of the dips and they were really good.
Dolma’s which are mince lamb wrapped in vine leaves served with a mint youghurt… and this was what I was comparing the giant Dolma’s of Nicosia to….
The Dolma’s here are much nicer, juicier because of it’s size
Beans…
Rice…
Lamb Kofta (Really good!)
Chicken kebabs (I think)…
The whole main course shared amongst us 3…
By the end of that meal, I literally could not move… it was an amazing experience and the food was really authentic and good.
I don’t know how anyone can do the Mezza (Which is when they keep piling on the food until you cry and beg for them to stop!)…
Overall Food Rating: 8/10
Restaurant ambiance: 7/10
Value for money: 7/10 (It was quite pricey if I remembered correctly
