This past year has been truly an eventful year. Full of ups and downs just like a roller coaster ride.
Thankfully for me, I had the Boy beside me always holding my hand, and supporting me as I support him through the good times and the not so happy times.
We have had tears, we have had laughter, we have had good company and great food.
This my dear readers, is a snapshot of the year that was π
Thank you for following throughout 2011 and I do hope you continue to stay on in the new year.
This year, saw the creation of several crazy eating fests!
From Duck Fests
To Pork Fest I and II
Followed by Roti Fest and a Laksa Party
Continuing on to severalΒ Crab FestΒ (I think the record now is 13 crabs in one sitting!)
And Chilli Fest!
We also had the Malaysian Fest, Pho Fest and Cake Fest (Cake Date @ Luxbite).
And many more others.
Not to mention, allΒ the blogger parties and cook-ups which saw yours truly and the Boy going completely mental trying to replicate a few recipes during the Momofuku Cooking The Books with our Momofuku Ramen, Pork Belly Ssam and Roasted Rice Cakes with Korean Red Dragon Sauce! T’was a time when all of us muttered and screamed Momo f**cking Fuku at the difficulty and preparation which had to be done beforehand!!!
We had the epic Christmas in July food blogger party.
We also visited several amazing restaurants, but just in case you’ve missed it, we went to Loam, Quay, Provenance,Β The Atlantic, Chin Chin,Β Golden Fields, Rockpool,Β Red LanternΒ and of course Vue de MondeΒ to name a few.
We attended food events such as the Good Food and Wine ShowΒ (where I got to meet Poh)Β and the Taste of Melbourne.
We attended the amazing Bompas and Parr together with Burch & Purchese‘s Sweet Architextural event during the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival π
We also got engaged, when I kicked up the courage and proposed to the Boy at a memorable dinner at Provenance Restaurant in Beechworth where Chef Michael Ryan helped me out π
But this was also the year that the Boy’s father lost his fight with cancer π We miss him dearly.
2011 also saw me win theΒ inauguralΒ Malaysia Kitchen Blogger Summit competition with a Foodie Trip to East Malaysia (which I sadly couldn’t go on). Thank you again to my dear readers and everyone who spent the whole month voting for me so that I could win! You have my utmost thanks and great wishes!
I had my 500th post this year which I dedicated to the Breast Cancer Awareness cause.
We also joined in to support the disadvantaged with raising awareness to STREAT Melbourne, Blog Action Day and Shout the Horn!
Of course, it wouldn’t have been complete if we didn’t create our annual Halloween post! So we brought you Spooky Shack (more famously known as Ginger GhettoΒ and the Wonky Boys!).
And finally, in the weeks leading up to Christmas and New Years, we cooked up a storm with our fellow blogger friends and ate enough for a hungry horde of warriors after a skirmish.
Next year, we hope to enjoy our wedding with nary a worry, and attempt to visit a few more places such as Royal Mail Hotel, Seiobo, Pei Modern and also The Fat Duck in UK π
So Long, and Thanks for the Fish.
Lots of Love,
I-Hua

Don’t worry, I understand that it was your sense of politeness to all the other bloggers that you didn’t mention our Reverse Dinner date as one of the highlights of your year. S’cool, s’cool, Angle Babe. π
